Every design decision in DIFF assumes a child is on the other side of it. This page sets out our commitments during the founding beta and how to raise a concern.
Effective August 2026
Children do not have logins during the beta. All access runs through the verified parent account, so there is no private channel between a tutor and a child inside the product.
Tutors are onboarded by an administrator, not self-service. Enhanced DBS checks and references are held before a tutor is assigned to any child. A tutor can only ever see children explicitly assigned to them.
Tutor communication stays inside DIFF: weekly plans, task instructions, feedback and summaries. Tutors must not arrange private contact, ask for a child's contact details or request off-platform messaging.
Submissions are stored privately and visible only to the child's parent, their assigned tutors and administrators. Nothing a child uploads is ever public.
If you are worried about anything a tutor has said or done, stop and contact us at safeguarding@diff.example. We acknowledge every report within one working day and suspend access while we look into it.
If a child is at immediate risk of harm, contact your local police or the NSPCC helpline first — then tell us.
